Silverado jet differs from other forms of jet in that it's a mineraloid with pyrite inclusions, giving it a wonderful lustrous quality. It is the material of choice in the creation of Cheryl Beyuka's joyful bird. Her family was originally well-known for their wonderful inlaid jewelry until Cheryl started carving fetishes with the help of Elvis Westika. She then taught her brother Philbert Beyuka, and her son Eli Westika to carve. An offering necklace is gorgeously arranged with lapis, fresh water pearl, red coral and turquoise beads. Red coral eyes are set into this approximate 4 5/8" long, 2" wide and 2 1/4" tall outstanding feathered friend.
